- How to play Dicegame.
-
- Dicegame is played with 1-3 players vs. the computer. After
- loading Dicegame, enter the number of players, then each players
- name.
-
- Play begins when the first player presses the space bar to get
- his or her first roll. The roll is then added to the player's
- score for that round. A player may continue to roll by pressing
- the SPACE BAR. Pressing ┘ (return or enter key) ends your turn.
- There is a box next to the dice table showing your first roll.
- It is also shown below the letters pt (point) on your score card.
- You must end your turn before you repeat your first roll or you
- will score zero for that round. Keep in mind the odds of repeating
- your first roll. For example, your very likely to repeat a seven,
- but not nearly as likely of repeating a two.
-
- Players turns proceed from left to right. When it is your turn
- there will be a bar over your name. There is also a message below
- the dice table showing who is the current player. The computer will
- roll last. A number of factors determine how many times the computer
- will roll the dice, such as odds and current scores.
-
- When the program can accept input, the following keys are toggles.
- ESC- quits the game. F- toggles fast. H- for a help screen.
- S- toggles sound.
- The keys are displayed at the bottom of the screen when they can be
- used.
-
- After ten rounds the game ends and the player with the highest score
- wins the game. You are then given a chance to play another game with
- the same players or you may choose new players.

- New features.
-
- A few enhancments have been added to this version of Dicegame.
-
- 1) Improved screen handling. Other versions were slow.
-
- 2) A more intelligent computer opponent. The computer will
- try to win. One example of this is that the computer will
- keep rolling in the last round until it wins or scores zero.
- I admit this may be an unfair advantage for the computer,
- since the computer always rolls last, however, the added
- challenge makes the game more interesting.
-
- 3) There are statistics presented at the end of each game.
- In the upper left hand corner of the screen, # of games played,
- grand totals, averages, and # of wins are shown. In the
- right hand corner the high scores are shown. (Note: the
- file DICEGAME.SC0 may be deleted to start a new highscore file.)
- Also, at the bottom of the screen there is a break down of
- which rolls came up during the game.
-
- 4) If ESC is pressed your given a chance to exit the game or
- continue. This was added just in case a player accidently
- pressed the ESC key.

- If you enjoy the game please consider a $5.00 donation.
- Any donation will be appreciated. I thought about trying
- to publish this game in a magazine, but didn't think it was
- fair to those of you who tried my game. There is yet to
- be a single donation for the older versions, but I did get
- some very useful suggestions from Bob Lancaster, author of
- MLYAHT and other games. It was very nice to hear from him!
